Why I Found Healing Beyond Kundalini: A Personal Journey Through Other Healing Modalities

You know how sometimes you try something new and it completely shifts your perspective? For me, that was yoga—it’s where my whole journey with healing practices began. Those sessions didn’t just stretch my body; they opened up something deeper, something transformative. But as much as yoga gave me, I started to feel like there was more out there to discover. That curiosity led me down some unexpected, but incredible, paths.

Kundalini: The Spark
Have you ever heard of Kundalini activation? It’s all about tapping into this energy that supposedly lies dormant inside us. I was equal parts intrigued and nervous—it sounded like unlocking some secret level in a video game. Once I started, though, I was hooked. The chants, the gongs, the breathwork—it was like nothing I’d ever experienced.
But as much as I loved it, I still felt like something was missing like there was another layer I hadn’t peeled back yet. That’s when I started branching out.
Breathwork: A Game Changer
One of the first things I tried was breathwork. I’d always heard people rave about it, saying it’s amazing for emotional release and healing, so when I stumbled upon a workshop by the sea, I figured, why not?
Let me tell you—it was intense. Picture this: I’m lying there, following this specific breathing pattern, and suddenly, it’s like a floodgate opens. Tears, laughter, all these bottled-up emotions just poured out of me. I walked out feeling lighter, freer—like I’d dropped a weight I didn’t even know I was carrying.

Sound Healing: Like a Sonic Hug
Then came sound healing. If you’ve never tried it, it’s basically letting sound vibrations wash over you, helping your body and mind reset. I went to a session with handpan, bowls, and gongs, and it felt like the sound was massaging my soul. Some notes vibrated so deeply that I swear I could feel them in my bones. It was surreal but in the best way—just pure, immersive relaxation.
Nature Therapy: The Ultimate Recharge
After that, I found myself craving nature. Have you ever gone hiking and felt like the trees were hugging you? That’s kind of what ecotherapy is about. I started spending weekends outdoors, soaking up the calm of forests and the energy of rivers. It wasn’t just about the scenery—it was the way it made me feel grounded like I was plugging into some ancient, unspoken wisdom.
Dancing It Out
Okay, this one surprised even me: conscious dance. Imagine a room full of people just moving however they feel, no judgment, no choreography. At first, I was hesitant (I mean, who wants to look silly in public?), but once I let go, it was incredible. There’s something about moving freely that lets your emotions flow in a way words can’t. It’s joyful, messy, and completely liberating.
Food as Medicine
And then there’s food. I know it’s not as flashy as sound baths or Kundalini chants, but eating well has been a huge part of my healing journey. Switching to whole, nutrient-rich foods and being more mindful about what I put in my body gave me this insane boost in energy and clarity. Plus, hitting up local farmer’s markets became its own little adventure.
The Big Takeaway
What I’ve learned through all this is that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s like building a playlist—you pick and choose what resonates with you. For me, it’s been this mix of yoga, Kundalini activation, breathwork, sound healing, nature, dance, and good food. Every piece has brought something unique to the table, helping me grow in ways I didn’t expect.
If you’re curious about any of this, my advice is simple: try it. Step outside your comfort zone. You never know what might click or how it might change you. Healing isn’t about finding a quick fix—it’s about exploring, learning, and embracing whatever helps you feel more like YOU.
